At One World Learns, our mission is to provide an inclusive environment for young children in Maryland to discover their unique identities, develop essential skills and cultivate a lifelong love for learning. Through our early learner programs for children, innovative center-based approach, and partnerships with families and Brightwheel, we strive to raise independent and confident individuals who are ready for both school and life. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and we are dedicated to supporting them on this journey of growth and discovery.

Vision Statement

Dedicated Support for Parent Involvement

At OWL, we recognize the pivotal role parents play in their child's development. We offer extensive resources and opportunities for parental involvement, including workshops, parent-teacher conferences, and regular updates

Our Unique Approach to Early Education

Our unique curriculum, inspired by two renowned programs – Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) and the Reggio Emilia approach – nurtures our students’ curiosity. It provides them with opportunities to explore, discover, and learn in a safe and supportive environment.

Reggio Emilia

This educational approach originated in the Reggio Emilia region of Italy and focuses on creating a child-centered environment that promotes exploration, creativity, and collaboration. It encourages children to be active participants in their learning and values the belief that children have multiple ways of expressing themselves through a hundred languages, including drawing, painting, sculpting, drama, music, writing, and more.

RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers)

This philosophy advocates for respectful and responsive care for infants and toddlers. It emphasizes developing secure attachments between caregivers and children through attentive caregiving practices such as observation and communication. It also values the importance of providing a safe and predictable environment for young children to explore and learn at their own pace.

In our Preschool for infants, toddlers, children, kids are encouraged to become active researchers and problem-solvers, working collaboratively with their teachers and peers in a learning community. We believe that the environment also plays an important role in our students’ growth and development, often becoming a third teacher to support all aspects of learning and social development.
